This afternoon I got to spend some time with my best friend. We never seem to have time to see each other, so this was a treat.

We worked on creating a blog site for her, to show off her artwork. She's a fantastic artist! I have 4 original pieces from her and 2 other pieces are owned by family members.

If you get a chance, please check out her work. Her link is on my site - WatercolorsByBarb.blogspot.com

Her paintings look like photographs - I don't know how she's able to capture her subjects the way she does.

Thank you Barb, for all the paintings you do. I just love them!

Went to the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History today. They have a new butterfly exhibit. I love taking pictures of butterflies!

The exhibit itself is very nice, but the staff needs to regulate how many people are in the exhibit at one time. There was hardly room to move, and when there are that many people, it's not fair to the butterflies. I was afraid they were going to be stepped on with the amount of people; especially parents that were not watching or teaching their kids to be careful.

The variety of butterflies was wonderful. I got quite a few nice shots (when the butterflies would stay still!).

I could spend hours watching them..... if you look closely at this one, you can see little pieces of grapefruit on its tongue! Enjoy :-)

Haven't posted in a while ..... just felt like sharing some of my photography.

Hope you enjoy .... I have hundreds of photos of butterflies. They are the prettiest bug that GOD created and they fascinate me.

:-) Enjoy and God Bless!

Young Life .......
It's so worth sending your child to this camp each summer. For those of you who don't know what it is, please check out their website.
http://www.younglife.org

This is the 2nd summer that I've sent my son to this Christian camp. Each time he goes, he comes back with a new spirit, a new attitude, a new beginning on how to look at life. The camp keeps these teens busy from 6am until midnight each day. They promise it will be "The best time of their life". My son told me they hold true to their word.

I can't begin to imagine all that they do, but I do know that teens who were never believers in Christ, or never had exposure to HIM, come back with a new sense of purpose in their lives. They want to get to know HIM more, have a relationship with HIM and understanding of what his teachings and suffering for us is all about.
